Default Reliability update on my 2007 Mustang

I purchased this 2007 Mustang /w pony pkg back in Christmas 2006. The car is built in August 2006, if I'm not mistaken.

It has 7500 miles on it now, and nothing has ever gone wrong once with it. No CEL, no warning lights of any kind, and still running pretty strong. No oil consumed whatsoever! The only mod is a drop-in K&N filter, so it's pretty stock. I use regular gas (87 octane) all the way.

Service history:

300mi - oil change (synthetics blend)
1000mi - oil change (full synthetics)
3500mi - oil change (full synthetics), tranny oil changed (dealer's oil)
6000mi - oil change (full synthetics), cabin air filter, K&N air filter cleaned & re-oiled.

All oil and filters are Mobil 1 brand.

The car is pretty reliable from what I can tell so far!

Good to hear! This is how most of us mustang owners feel but, all we see is people posting problems so everyone thinks they are junk.

[:-]That's a heck of a lot of time and money spent on oil changes! Considering the interval for regular motor oil is 5000 miles, I wonder why change synth oil so often? Racing?

I can under stand the first 2 changes. He wanted to get the breakin trash out of there. But after that, 3-5K is normal.

Yeah, now I'm on 3k oil change interval.

Since I've been using synthetics, I was afraid that the break-in period wouldn't be done until 5k miles.
