I street race, Anywhere, any time. Been caught one time, plead guilty, Told the judge, Yes I was racing. Out ran the cops twice. I think the real morons on the road are the ones in the left lane. Watch any COPs show and the wreck at the end is caused (50%) by someone being in the left lane. For those that think they are some self appose speed regulator for the road( Get the H over) You give me the finger and we will pull over or I will follow you home,.(I don't care if you are a girl) I will kick your ash.
Street racing is never ok, you do it at your own expense, Either money or injuries, Cars now are way to fast to race on the streets, and most drivers don't know the limitations of themselves or there car.
Learning your limitations and then learning your cars limitations in a safe environment is your first step, be it taking a 90 degree left at 45 mph or power shifting without lifting the gas peddle .
If you don't know your limitations or your cars limitations, then street racing is a accident just waiting to happen.

Sorry this just cracks me up you pay $3 a gallon or so. For me to fill a Stang with premium here it would cost me $125 to fill the tank. Be thankful how little it costs you. You really dont have much to complain about compared to Europe.
However yes I race on the streets occasionally when it is safe to do so. Some people just need to be shown there not as fast as they are. However I prefer to do it up or down the on ramps. Can get up to 100+ on them and there 2 lanes wide so its usually a good place to race since your still staying legal.

At 47 I think it's childish, dangerous, and you should get your license pulled.
When I was 16 I street raced my '70 Mustang twice, won both, and it was a blast.. At the time I didn't care what old farts or cops thought

RE: Views on Street Racing
When I was younger and had something to prove I would race anyone at anytime! I now know that I was a total F***ing idiot and am very lucky to be alive and also very lucky I didn't kill anyone else with my stupidity! It's tough to tell a young tostesterone (sp?) filled guy that it truely is not cool and extremely dangerous regardless of how good a driver they think they are.
Two weeks ago right up the street from where I live a young guy in his prime was torn to shreads in an extreme high speed crash! He was doing well over 100mph when his car unexpectedly went off the highway and literally flew into a large tree 20 feet up. When the rescue got there they found half the car still stuck in the tree with the young guy hanging from the wreckage. It looked like someone had gutted this kid because all his internal organs were scattered below on the ground and wreckage. His good friend who he was racing took off and only was found a few days later after another motorist they passed was able to give a description of the other vehicle. Now this other kid is being charged with manslaughter for his hand in this "Harmless Street Race"!
Not for nothing, but I come from the Vette community. I have owned several Corvettes over the years and have only recently bought a Stang and absolutely love it. One big difference I see on theCorvetteforum versus this forum is that posting about street racing is forbidden there! You can not make mention or post anything to do with street racing whatsoever. I know this won't stop the people from partaking in street racing, but maybe just maybe will keep a few people from considering it!
Enough of my preaching, you all are grown ups here and can make your own decisions on whats right or wrong, I just hope I am no where around when you do decide it's safe to street race!
BTW, my car is stock right now but I am planning a Super Charger and other Mods, but I still won't Street race. The track is the place for excessive speed!

My point was...that we pay a hell of a lot more than you guys. Or did you just skip over what I wrote. So you should have no reason to bitch at the costs compared to what we have to pay. I think it was fairly obvious what I was saying. You saying its even cheaper alters that in no way what so ever.
