First off I got the unit from ebay and the guy had an 05 GT. Im going to get a CAI soon but would like to know if I should use the xcal2 and flash my stock 05v6? If so, can somone point me in the right direction as what tune to configure.

Any info is greatly appreciated!!

First welcome, second I wouldnt have bought a tuner off of ebay. Unless they gave youy killer price you'll end up paying for the tunes which in the end can wind up costing you as much or more as a new one would, third as I understand it once you use it on a car it's locked to that car. While I know you have to download the stock tune before it can be unlocked from that car I "think" it still needs to be unlocked by an authorized dealer before you can use it on another car that is my understanding atleast.

buying a tune from someone off ebay wasent a good idea. your going to still need to buy a new tune too. just because someone has a tune that is on the same model and year car as you doesnt mean it will work. he could have mods that you dont have and could disaster on your car. you would have been better of purchasing a tuner from brenspeed ot b a m a tunes. good luck

edit. now that ive seen you have a v6 this is going to be the wrong tune completely!

if you want to keep and use your xcal2, then here's what
you need to do.

1) send your xcal2 device to an sct dealer (such as brenspeed) and
have them set the device up for your PCM strategy code.
2) request 1 to 3 tunes specific for the octane(s) you wish to run
and your current mods (if any).

it'll work out just fine, unless the tuner is still locked to another vehicle
in which case, it may cost a little more.
