Default Something worry me about the Saleen and Roush Mustangs

They add a supercharger on the Mustang GT engine; but unlike the Shelby, they still use the stock TR-3650 tranny from the GT. On the Transmission's official website, it says the maxmium torque cap is around 360lb-ft, both Saleen and Roush mustangs exceed that cap.

Does this sound worrying? [:'(]

Hmm... I see that you have a Whipple supercharger installed, have you changed the clutch along with the charger?

How is your tanny coping with the new power?

well i just installed the whipper about
a month ago and am still on the stock clutch
and tranny. only time will tell really, whether those
items can hold up....

i'm not worried tho, parts like clutches, tranny's,
drivetrain etc, are just temporary parts to me....

you got to pay to play, so i'm driving it like
i stole it.

Haven't heard of anyone blowing the actual transmission yet. Plenty of clutches, a couple input shafts, some driveshaft failures of one sort or another. Rear ends and axles seem to hold up pretty well.

I am sure it's more than possible but it seems like these other components give out first.

The synchros as always are still crap in these trannys. But otherwise there are plenty of guys who race these trannys all summer without issue. The tranny will hold up past the 360ft-lb rating, it just won't last as long.

Most modern day cars are deisnged from factory to run 100,000+ miles without rebuilds etc. So adding more power / torque wont kill it straight away just dimish the life but chances are the car will be gone and sold to other people in that time so no need to worry.

And the Saleens are modified. The S281 E is a 6 speed for a start and the others all have closer ratios I believe. So chances are it was probably rebuilt to withstand a bit more punishment too.
