how much do they go for? I think i saw a 5zigen model that I liked a lot. not this one though.
not bad just not my preference. i'd like the spokes to be a little wider

they're about $200-$220 for the 17 x 10s. i'm interested in them for autocross, although i've heard the 17 x 9 Cobra Rs weigh about the same and i've seen those used for a song, but not in black so i'd have the cost of powdercoating them as well. gotta be black!

Edgeracing.com has them in 17x9 for $197 You don't need 17x10. 17x9 will be fine and save you a lil more weight. For the money the 5Zigen's can't be beat.
They are lighter than the Cobra R's by a few pounds. I know because I have the Cobra R's lol. Ross at RossMustang.com has them on his AI car. They are definitely a few pounds lighter than the Cobra R's.

rodeo:i feel like a kid caught with his hand in the cookie jar! i figured you'd find out i was still scopin out rims.in my defense I CAN'T HELP IT!!! i just get interested in something and then i'm obsessed!
so your professional opinion is go the 9 inch wide route. won't that limit me to 275s [in general, i know that every tire that says 275 isn't necessary the same width]?? if i went with the 10s, i could still go with 275s but i could also experiment with up to 315s if i decided to. and do you know where to look at team dynamics wheels like the ones on the Miller Motorsports Park Challenge mustangs????
i fully acknowledge that seat time and continued instruction is the most important thing. . . i'm just researching this stuff during the week to keep me sane, if you know what i mean. plus, i may just have to sell the 20s to fund the racing wheels, which i'm sure you approve of .

Believe it or not you can have too much tire. Too muchgrip in the rear can induceundersteer. Think of this - AI guys are limited to a 275 tire. The AIX guys are running 315's with a LOT more horsepower.
275's all around will be perfect. They are also cheaper and LIGHTER . You can also rotate them and get more life out of them. 315's aint goin on the front for sure! I run down C5's with 275's all around

I am running the black FN01R-C's at 18x9.5 for my race set with either 265/35 or 275/35 depending on the rubber.
With 275/35s I found I was able to purposefully generate a modest snap understeer and get a controlled powerdrift on turns that had enough drive out...it was pretty iffy with the smaller wheels.A nice littledownshift during the drift and I was able to use the V8 to power out of the turn...its a great way to setup for a pass when you've got two slower cars barking at each other tight on the turn

. .. why not stick with my stock fanblades at 18 x 8.5 and just cram a 265 series tire on there? that would be even cheaper overall, despite higher tire costs. i see vulcantire has 265/35/18 azenis r615s for $219 apiece. feedback?
