I just went to youtube, and found a couple of dyno video's....looked like with minor mod's they were between 335 and 355 at the wheels. They LOSE a TON more hp through the driveline than we do, and with the added weight, you can start to see how we can keep up with them.

My best friend has an 06 GTO (6speed). He has a fair amount of mods on it and a s/c on the way, but with just exhaust and CAI/tune his wasSCARY fast. Most of the GTOs where I live are heavily modded so I may be biased, but that car with the LS2 is a monster. A big, ugly, overweight monster, but not to be messed with anyway.

I call B.S. No such thing as an automatic new GTO
hahahahhaa.

sorry i know you apoligized that's just one of those things that makes me laugh. but anyway, race him from a dig. those things are BITCHES to launch, and the ls2 has a monster top end. in the 1/8th you might be able to get him...it'll be pretty close. Modded they can be insane though, and if the guy can launch you won't touch him. They have run high 12.8's stock. the ls_ series engines > any ford engines right now in the same price range. At least number ones (not the lsj, no offense to any cobalt or ion owners that may be lurking here) but i think the ls2 is going out of production this year and being replaced by the....ls3? not sure, but chevy definately makes some great v8's.

Anyone knows what a GTO actually puts to the wheels? Any stock dynos floatin around out there? My friend has one and got an exhaust for it, it sounds illegally loud haha, but I'd like to be able to keep up with it with the turbo
you won't have a problem. EVERYONE with a turbo on the 4.0 is running at least equivalent times as the ls2 gto's, or have the capability to. remember they weigh 600 lbs more than we do, and have almost always have taller gearing. The very best ls2 gto drivers are dipping into 12's stock, most wont run 12's until they have the usual bolt ons. All the turbo guys at least have the ability to run 12's, the crazier guys are knocking on the door of 11's or are already there. Turbo 4.0>gto, at least when the gto is stock or bolt on only.
