Default is shaker option worth it?

sup guys, i think the only option i'm really interested in is maybe the shaker 500 (trying to keep the price down). but at what $600? is it worth it? I've got a crap load of mp3's and the 6-disc in-dash is really tempting but would i be better off going with an aftermarket head unit and speakers?

any info would be appreciated

I think the shaker 500 sounds pretty good for a factory system. You probably can get a better sound system, but I am not aware of any manufacturer that makes a 6 disc in dash changer. If any one knows of one let me know so I can put one in my girlfriends car. If you get the Premium GT the shaker 500 comes with it as I am sure you are aware of. I was originally planning on getting the Deluxe and adding the shaker 500, but after driving a GT with the leather I had to have it. Try going to a dealer and listening to them. Hope this helps.

some of the new cars are not letting you install aftermarket sound systems. It was this way on my uncles 99 Lincon LS. It wouldn't accept the new sound system.[sm=boohoo.gif]

I have the 1000 and it sounds great! I have put aftermarket stereos in most all of my vehicles, but with the Shaker 1000 I don't see any point. People don't believe me when I tell them it is stock!

i really like the fact that the shaker 1000(which i ordered with my car) can handle mp3 and wma support) 6 cd x 400ish songs a piece is a hell of alot of music..almost 40hrs
a little computer trick..take your mp3's and make copies of each one..and then compress them down to max of 128k and you will fit alot more per cd and quality will not be lost that badly..make sure your id3v1 tags are all correct or you wont know name of song and band when playing in shaker stereo

enjoy
