How to double your gas mileage

RE: How to double your gas mileage
I can believe weight reduction (removing the spare tire, extra junk lying around in the car, etc), I can believe driving with the A/C off and having the tires properly inflated in order to give better gas mileage, running a thinner, synthetic oil to help reduce windage and friction...But acetone? Nope. Sorry, I'm not going to put that stuff in my tank. The stuff cleans varnish off of paint brushes, it eats away at paint (especially LATEX paint)...What would it do to rubber hoses, gaskets, O-rings? I SERIOUSLY doubt it'd make the car's engine last longer.
The only additives I've put into a fuel tank are lead substitute (my dad's 67 Jaguar requires it until we can get the heads/valve seats reworked to run unleaded pump gas) and Sta-Bil (which helps prevent the gas from becoming varnish in the tanks if it sits for long periods of time). I won't put Acetone in the tank.
