I don't feel sorry for him. He probably should never have bought the car in the first place.

This is just ridiculous...$34k for an 06 GT?!? I paid $28k for 07 GT, with cloth seats, stock radio...

The only differences between that and mine are that I've got 1000 mi. more, I don't have a fancy Hurst Shifter, Idon't have the "premium" radio, and I don't have leather...Sorry, but I don't think that accounts for an additional $6k of cost, especially considering it's a year older than mine!

I wish him luck selling it, but I don't think it's going to happen.

I have an 07, with all options except leather, 5K miles, SCT Tuner, Sequential Tail Lights, CAI, 275-50/17's, and I only owe 17K, at that I wonder if I owe more than what the car is worth.

You can only bury so much negative at a time. The bank wont finance that much neg if the car is not capable of holding it. Must be a combo of a real sh!ty deal and a bad interest rate. Sometimes I wonder how people buy cars. Mine was a 2006 premium w/side air bags. Sticker was 29500. I got it for 26800. I put 0 down and 405 for 72 months. There are ridiculous deals out there. You just have to hunt for them. You cant let a salesman push you around. They need you. Not the other way.

He wasn't necessarily screwed by the dealer - he may have had an upsidedown trade when he bought it. I used to sell Fords - you wouldn't believe how upsidedown some people are (btw, Dodge's and Mitsubishi's are the worst). Some, by the time I got them, had a trade that already had several previously upsidedown cars rolled into them already.
You said it, that is probably what happened. He is in deep do-do. He probably should just keep it and pay it off. At that price he won't get any takers.
