I don't know if any of you have thought about this or not. But rater than go and spend money on valve covers why not just got to the parts store and but some high heat paint and paint them your self I did it on my last car and they came out looking like i bought new valve covers.

I believe they are magnesium valve covers; done for their light weight not looks.
Mine get REALLY dirty! lots of black dust/sludge builds up on them. I suppose painted or chrome ones would be easier to clean... Or at least you'll be able to tell if you got them clean!

What was changed was the cost for Ford had to spend. They reduced approximately 10 fasteners plus the tooling costs for the valve covers & heads. When you multiply that by the number of GT's sold per year, that is a big savings in their pocket. I just changed mine on my 06 because they looked like crap from day one. I ordered the Steeda covers which were the 07 style. The 07's will fit on the 05-06's. Unfortunately it does not work the other way around. 05-06 covers will not work on the 2007’s.This was probably some of the best money I spent on the car at least when it comes to appearance. Very easy install...

That is interesting. I just purchased a 2007 GT and the covers look like ten year old dingy bare aluminum. What was the change on 2007 heads that required a different cam/valve cover?

$280 shipped was shopping around pal. If you can find a setof OEM powder coated cam covers for a better price, hats off to you.
