Stripe carbon fiber hood?
This has been bothering me.Leave the hood as is,lay stripes on top,or if and when I paint the stripes on the entire car
paint the hood the body color and leave the carbon fiber showing for the stripes on the hood?Any opinions will be appreciated....TIA

RE: Stripe carbon fiber hood?
hood is sexy.. the stripes just dont go with it in my opinion. i am sure you agree as you are posting this thread. i think you should remove then entirely and leave the black carbon hood.. next get some black rims.... the car will look great....

RE: Stripe carbon fiber hood?
Hello Jason....
I think the car looks great, I really do. I do understand, however, what you are saying.....the picture of the car from above does make you wonder if the car would look better if there was something going on with the hood......Hmmm.....after much thinking about it, if it was my car.....I think the best idea you have is to paint the hood, leaving the carbon fiber showing as the stripes. I think that would pull it all together very well, and you would still see the carbon fiber. Your car looks so finished and tailored, I think leaving the hood black makes is look "undone".
You know I love yourcar. Anything you do will only make it better and better as it already looks outstanding!! I don't thinkI ever realized before your hood was carbon fiber......that is so awesome. Makes me like it even more ! Shella ~ [sm=drlove.gif]

RE: Stripe carbon fiber hood?
You could leave most of the hood carbon fiber and paint just around the edges like the classic 69/70 Mach 1's and Cobra Jets...you'd still have most of the carbon fiber showing, but the edges would look much cleaner IMO...

RE: Stripe carbon fiber hood?
I might get the Seibon CD hood for my baby.
however I think CF hoodsneed to be painted.
otherwise it's got that civic sort of rice look
i've heard there's quite a bit of work involved in making the cf hood look smooth like steel. but it's worth doing it.

RE: Stripe carbon fiber hood?
this is a tough call...the CF Hood looks killer and i would hate for you to cover it up...
but it does look a little out of place with the stripes..
1..Either remove the stripes..or ..paint the hood with the CF showing as the stripes....
Tough...i dont know...wish i could see in person..might look fine as is..
INFO on the hood where..pice..specs.. THX,,good luck...its a good problem to have

RE: Stripe carbon fiber hood?
Thanks for the input ppl.
Really don't want to remove the stripes cause I believe they complete the look
of the rear end of the car.(Mine and others)
As for the hood, VIS,I think $650,and bolt on but does require hood pins for speeds
over70mph ! (You think your factory hoodlifts and bounces...lol)

RE: Stripe carbon fiber hood?
My opinion, is to paint the hood and the stripes, but leave the CF showing underneath. It looks so import to show CF and the regular paint and stripes outside. It doesn't make it any faster. With the hood open, people can see it's CF and obviously lighter, and custom.
