What a joke...for the hell of it I checked with a dealer in clearwater Florida about a 2008 shelby gt500...he tells me he has one coming in, a convertible and I can have it for 15k over invoice...it will be 20k over invoice when it hits the floor....I basically told the sales dude where he can stick his shelby....I still can not fathom dropping 20k over invoice for that car...its too bad....

Sorry we are sold out of them , But we do have a 2008 GT500 Conv coming .
If you are interested the price will be $15,000.00 over MSRP before it comes in or $20,000.00 when it hits our floor.

The deposit to hold this price is refundable if you do not want the car once it comes in if you are not satified with it. You must complete the transaction within 3 business days if you choose to do this.

ya its such a shame that the dealer ships are ripping people off with that car.

haha just buy the body kits and the engine and call it ur shelby for a fraction of the cost, its just a total rip off now, but i bet those mark ups with drop when the new muscle cars from other companies are released with more stock power than ours.

According to the guy in the service department at the local dealership they sold off two GT-500s to two guys (who were pals) for $250,000 each. He said they put new headers in them and then when they were ready to be picked up they decided to wait because it was raining and they didn't want their cars to get wet. He said they were planning to keep them in the garage.

I cannot fathom paying that much for a car to just let it rot in some garage. If you're going to drop that kind of money on such a car then enjoy it for what it is and what it was meant for.

Imitation is the greatest form of flattery so they say. But in the end it will never ever be a Shelby! Sure you can Mod it faster than a Shelby. But your missing the whole point of what a real GT500 is about. As far as the other companies coming out with their versions of a muscle car it will be1 1/2 -2years from now and by then the production line will have ended for the GT500. Only time will tell what the true resale valuewill be in 5 , 10 , 20 years from now but I will bet you it will be far morethan your 6banger.

Paying 250,000 for a GT500. No way that car appreciates from 65K to 240,000. That is 175,000 dollar difference over the usual price. Even in 20 years. Muscle cars are popular again after 30+ years. Don't know if it will be worth that much. JMO

I don't understand why you guys get your panties up in a wad just because cars are going for over MSRP. Supply and demand, its how our economy works.

When Carroll Shelby passes away all Shelby's will go up in price no matter what. Just like artists when they die they suddenly become a part of history and if the car is original like an original painting it will be worth a great deal more than what they paid for I am sure of it! Won't take 30 yrs for an 81 yr old man to pass and when he does the Shelby owners will be able to sell their cars for what ever they want....JMO J

1+ but no one should pay 250,000 dollars for a new GT500 when you can get them on Ebay for 55-60,000
