Another fake Hood Pin Question!!!!!! Need Help!

For those of you who have fakie hood pins..
Are the cords on the fakies wrapped in some sort of material so that the cords don't scratch the hood?
Are they safe as far as the hood not being scratched from the cord?

Can you remove the cords so that no one can screw with them at night?
Are they loud or rattle when driving with them on?
Are there different kinds of fakies? And where did you get them?
