Good idea to get an extra tranny?

Good idea to get an extra tranny?
Does anyone support the idea of getting a new takeoff tranny in case mine breaks? After I autocrossed Sunday I got clanging in the tranny on Monday. Loud. It was gone that night, oddly enough, but it got me thinking... If a takeoff is only about $600, and this is my only way of transportation, maybe I should just buy a tranny and keep it in case?
Good or bad idea? Waste of money? Takeoff tranny would be missing too many things anyways? I dunno, give any thoughts.

Your not even lowered and your auto xing.
Mustang are for straight lines. not corners. Get a subby if you want to go around turns. [8D]

A STOCK mustang on stock tires ran as well as 61 seconds in the last autocross I was in,with an '07corvette with race tires and mods running second fastest on theday at54seconds. A mustang with some mods and race tires would have been challenging that corvette EASILY.
So watch out if you ever get the chance to bet against a mustang in a turning race.... Unless the other car issimply uncatchable like a WRX,then you may just need to put your money down on the 'stang!
