Default A warning for those with Tokico D-Specs

If you wash your engine make sure you cover the adjustment holes at the top of the struts. I was out for a spirited drive today and pulled over to tighten things up and the fronts were completely rusted up from washing my engine. If you notice on the cover caps they give you there is a small hole on top that water can get in. I don't know why they did that. I had to wait until I got home and spray them down with WD40 and break them free with a wrench.

Yeah I was worried that I wouldn't be able to adjust the front anymore when i saw it. They were really rusted up. Gotta love WD40!

Mine have a screw on cap with a rubber piece on the top of the cap. There isn’t any way for water to get in.

Really? Mine have no rubber piece on the cap. Is there a hole on the top of your cap though?

My rubber caps came off almost instantly. I now have a little square of electrical tape covering the holes.

Yikes! I'm missing one of my covers! I'm gonna get the WD in there right away. Thanks BLK05stang!

A dab of grease will keep all moisture out!

exforbrian,
They are Tokico D-spec adjustable shocks and struts. VERY nice nice improvement when you lower your stang. Take less than 5 mins to be set up fromclose to stock ride to change to full race completely flat cornering and very stiff OR anything in between! (very easy to make changes)They are around $600 and 'can' be installed by yourself. The rears area no brainer and took less than an hour in my driveway complete. The fronts you have to remove remove the spring from the strut..... but can also be done IF you have some mech abilty.

You will not hear many complain about Tokico D-Spec......

I don't really have any desire to lower my car, but am I right ot still assume that the D-specs will still be a good choice to get?
