Passenger seat conversion?

RE: Passenger seat conversion?
I work at a dodge dealer and am not sure if ford would be the same, but I'd say a couple grand, figuring in the power seat track, switches, a new body harness (I doubt that they're all pre-wired on the assembly line for a power passenger seat but I'm not sure), etc... I guess you could cut that figure about in half if you're doing the labor yourself...I may be way off...mustangs do command a bigger aftemarket than your average minivan though, so maybe there's a supplier offering a kit somewhere on the net...

I'm with you on the need for a power seat for the pass. It's the heighth that needs adjustability.Chicks and kids can't see over the dash.Maybe the mounts that the tracks sit on could be shimmed up.I might try that to do thaton my 05.

Getting parts from a salvage yard might be an option if you are mechanically inclined. You can find a late model small car with a power passenger/ Then you could fabricate mounting points on the power base track to attach to the Mustang passenger seat. It would be a job, but it could be done.

sounds like we need an insider to let us know what other cars Ford has the same passenger seat braket as on the Mustang. Otherwise, just wait for the few 2007's that have the passenger power seats to get wrecked!

The key here is some hunting around.
If you can find a crashed or wrecked 07; and can buy the power seat from it - it should be simple. The floor mounting bolt locations will most likely be the same [high probability]. From there, all you will need to do is find power and it can be done in many ways. You will not need to swap the wiring harness.
Interior shops pull the front seats out routinely. Thus to swap in a new passenger one is no big deal. Any one of your car buddies or other forums members here should be able to help you with the wiring. Just remember to add an "in-line" fuse if your wiring ends up anything other than stock.
If you can find one, I'd guess $50 to $150 for the seat plus a couple of bucks for the miscellaneous. Also - if you need to, your seat skin will fit the power seat and can be swapped out easily.

RE: Passenger seat conversion?
My drivers seat is power, but the back of the seat is manual with no power adjustment. Is the power unit in the frame and moves the seat section or is the power unit actually part of the seat itself? I'm thinking the only difference is the frame unit itself. Any ideas???

part# 7R3Z 6361710-A Pass 6 Way Power Seat lower track assy retail $552.53
this is only the track with the motor, you still need the seat side panel $68.63, a power seat switch $42.37, seat wiring harness $43.15, the seat frame is the same so the track assy should bolt right up. if your car is a 2007 then chances are your car is already wired for the passenger power seat option, if your car is a 2005/2006 then I don't think so because right side power seat isn't a option.
