drivers side her at 20k miles, dealer fixed under warranty. I think I could have lubed it or rplace a spring, but since I had the BTB warranty I let them do it. They replaced the whole assembly so had to order in the part and it was a two trip fix.

My handles (2005 mustang) were also sticking out, I took off the door panel, located the mechanism, sprayed silicone on it, to no avail. I could see what the problem was, it was a spring that had sprung (sorry) from it's original bracket, so that it no longer provided a strong retraction. I think if I was out of the warranty I could have fixed it by popping the spring back into its bracket but it IS under warranty, so she sits at the dealer now, waiting for 2 new handles. I expect many mustangs will have this problem, most of them after the warranty runs out. To really get to this spring you have to remove the door handle, obviously from the inside of the door, but with the door cross members it is really hard to reach.

Dealership fixed the driver's side handle on my wife's '05 vert. No signs of silicone - they replaced the broken part. Now I'm waiting on the new Shaker 500 to come in and replace the old one. The darn thing started freaking out by cycling through the CD's with the key off and drained the battery overnight (it's a daily driver). Dealer said it was defective and is replacing it for free.

I think I might take a day off and bring my car to the dealer to have the door handles replaced. I've had issues with my Shaker 500 since I got it as well. Never thought about bothering to replace it with another Shaker until the buttons started chipping [:@] It drives me crazy looking at it everyday. The dealer would replace this under warranty as well, right? I'd like it done at the same time.
