Default Hurst short shifter keeps coming loose

so i just had a fun 800 mile drive and i tightened the two bolts for the hurst shifter and by the time i got back its gotton loose again..like the part where the shifters boot is..anyone have this problem or know how to solve it..

Yes,I used some light strength thread locker and fixed the problem.

loc-tight works great, or longer bolts with nuts & lock washers.

+1 Had the same prob and blue loc tite fixed it right up. 5k miles and the bolts haven't moved.

I actually had to use different bolts than those that came with it, I didn't use loctite on mine and it still hasn't came loose. I've had mine on for about 3 months now.

Get longer bolts, Double Nut the bolts and tighten one nut against the other.

oh ok..ill have to go buy that..if i use lock tite will i every be able to remove the shifter

Yes,just don't use the permanent strength (red I believe)
