Is my 12v Battery covered under 3yr/36,000mile warranty??
Ok, so as of late my car has been all over the place electrically... It's been either:
A) Hard starting
B) Completely DEAD on 2 occasions
-and-
C) Dash Lights flashing for Parking Brake (while driving 80mph!) and oil (just changed 1month ago, Verified full, everything in order).
I've checked the battery and charged it (Both Trickle and FULL JUICE)... But it just keeps dying. Checked the battery acid/water levels and they are all EXCELLENT.
Finally, I pulled out my "Specific Gravity" tester tonite after an hour on the charger and found that 3 of the 6 cells were reading "BAD" - Sure enough the battery check window (built into the battery is also not showing any indication of good).
I think I've got a bad 12v battery... MY QUESTION: Is it covered under my 3yr/36,000 mile warranty, or do I have to just buy a new one??
Oh, I double/triple checked the alternator too, I'm getting 14.45v while the car is idling, so that appears to check out JUST fine.

You might have the dead battery becuase of a drain somewhere in the car. Many people have had problems with the shaker 1000 subs in the back no turning off or something. But i would think the batter should be under warranty this early in the game

Good call, yeah, I don't have the premium Audio package in my car... Just a stock stereo w/ CD. (I believe that's the standard equipment!)
It's a Standard v6 - No Frills coupe.-- I'm thinking the battery may indeed be covered under warranty as well, it's going to the Ford dealer AGAIN...
Anyone else have any input?

My '05 GT had a bad battery and was replaced under warranty(same symptoms, hard to crank over, radio acting up, etc.). Dealer changed it at oil change interval(lucky coincidencebattery went bad right before servicing). You shouldn't have any problem getting it changed under warranty. No such problems on my '06(knock on wood[8D]). I believe a bad batch of batteries are to blame...................

The battery is 3 years 36 months under the warranty. If you are near the 3 year mark that is about the time for a factory battery. See if they can upgrade the warranty battery to their top of the line. Some dealers can and will others well you know. Good Luck
