I have a 2006 convertible, also with 44,000 miles on it. No problems with it. I have marks on the center console, but that isn't a "quality" issue, it simply is from putting my coffee cup in the holders and not hitting them while I'm driving and can't look down.
Ripped carpet - with "lots of people sitting in the back" - doesn't sound like a quality issue but more of a "who did you have back there and what were they doing" issue.

LOL, That means you drove 121 miles a day for 365 days out of the year, or you drove from New Jersey to Walt Disney World andback again without driving anywhereelse22 Times in a year! Do you have a trailer attached to the back of that mustang.....cause it sounds like you live in that thing.

The levers broke on my 06 GT Vert but the dealer happily replaced them under warranty.
Its not a perfect car but its damn good for the $34k I think.

this car is a far better quality product than any American car I've owned from the 80s-90s. They've stepped it up.

Sounds like a GM to me.
Seat handle broke at 15,000 miles.

To be so dissapointed in a vehicle at 44k by such simple things is crazy IMO. Just common wear & tear items. I would consider it a turd if the motor went at 15k, the trans at 18k, the rear at 20k. You get the drift.

Actually I do drive 120 miles every day on my commute. Add that plususe during the day to see clients, weekend drives, and vacations and the miles will add up. That is why I bought the extended warranty on my car and resisted any mods for some time.

Interior scratches, ripped carpets, seats tearing...welcome to the world of convertibles....the Sun is not good on interior components...I've owned 2 GT verts in the past, and the interior pieces crack and show more wear over the coupes because of the weathering...

I understand I drove the car many miles, but I'm not one of those people that buys a car and just lets it sit in my driveway and watch it. I buy a car to drive. Everything else with the car is wonderful, gas mileage is ehh, but it is a sports car, who cares? The carpet ripping is the only thing that really annoyed me, I know it is from people sitting in the back and their heels are probably up against the back of the carpet, but still, with only 44k???? I guess I should have expected it when buying the car...
