yea and supposely if u shut it off, it'll return to normal, it did for me

If its actually the linkage and not the carpet the best thing to do is first punch the gas pedal all the way down, this is will actually unstick the throttle in most cases. To just throw it in neutral and hit the brakes will stop you but will still be reving up your engine so I guess this would be option #2 if #1 fails

What linkage?? these cars don't have a throttle cable. Along with all the other new Fords.

I'm going to guess that you have an auto. It has to be something with the auto cars because I've never heard of this happening in the 5 speeds.

Your telling me theres no "link" between the accelerator and the fuel delivery system? what is the pedal attached to wishes and dreams?

it's attached to wires that transmit an electrical signal. if you spent any time under the hood you would realize there's no cable controlling the throttle body.

Wow new cars are all wires and s%#t I grew up driving 60s rods (last car a '68 GT Torino fastback) and if anything went wrong you could pull over and fix it where you were! Its like you got to be an Electronical Engineer just to tune your car today, AARRGGGHH
