If its actually the linkage and not the carpet the best thing to do is first punch the gas pedal all the way down, this is will actually unstick the throttle in most cases. To just throw it in neutral and hit the brakes will stop you but will still be reving up your engine so I guess this would be option #2 if #1 fails

What linkage?? these cars don't have a throttle cable. Along with all the other new Fords.

Wow new cars are all wires and s%#t I grew up driving 60s rods (last car a '68 GT Torino fastback) and if anything went wrong you could pull over and fix it where you were! Its like you got to be an Electronical Engineer just to tune your car today, AARRGGGHH
