Default Scared out of my mind.

I made a left turn and my gas pedal appears to have stuck or gone in all the way, I slided and tried to correct, and kept going (it wouldn't throttle down,) Ipopped up a curb/hill and stopped about 10 inches from a tree. I put it in reverse, and hit a pole b/c it got stuck again and revved all the way up. Damage is minimal, will post pics once I get my wits back...

What the hell just happened... it would not stop?[&o][sm=smiley6.gif][sm=wtf.gif]

I have never heard of the gas pedal getting stuck on the S197's. There are a few posts on mustangforums about the Engine revving up to redline because of the Drive-By-Wire somehow gets FxCKED up.

Please for the love of god tell me you didn't redline dump your car into reverse. [:@]

I found several posts on this: "stuck gas pedal."

I did not redline dump into reverse... I made a normal left turn.

Wow, glad you're ok. If that every happens to me I hope I'm on a race track and not the street.

First, glad you're okay.

Second, while doing a random search in the forums one day I stumbled across some of the "stuck gas pedal" threads myself. Most, I think, were caused by the pedal getting stuck under the front lip of the floor mat, although there were some that may have had another cause. Still, the floor mat is probably something everyone should keep an eye on. I sure as hell don't want to be on the receiving end of a stuck gas pedal...or a pole, for that matter.

Yep Ive read about this before. But as stated above the floor mat thing couldnt be ruled out. I imagine thats why they have that hook on the driver's side floor mat. Either way if this happens to you...shift that sucker into neutral and slam the brakes!
