Default Nitrous HP vs Blower HP

Ok, I raced my friends 03/04 Cobra the other day just for the hell of it. I knew I would lose but it was still fun. He gave me first and really didn't get on it till he hit 2nd. Then he went by me, but it really wasn't BLOWING by me. Just like passed me. He has probably 400-410 HP. Now my question is, if I can get my 06 gt 5speed to 410 hp on nitrous. Who will win in the 1/4? Nitrous gives you a lot more TQ over a blower doesn't it? The only thing holding me back is there have more power band and weigh probably 400 or more lbs less. Would I have a chance? Hes only running 12.7s right now. I believe with a 100 or 125 shot I could take him. What do you guys think?

With a 100 shot when it was untuned i was at 360 rwhp and i raced an 03 cobra with exhaust, ported blower, and tune putting down close to 420 rwhp. We were dead even racing in the 1/8th. I ran a 7.898 and he ran an 7.834. The thing about the nitrous is the torque, when i was at the 360 rwhp my trqu was up at 425 ft/lbs.

After i tuned my 100 shot it put down 385 rwhp/438 ft/lbs........ We are still working on getting the 125 shot to run perfect so i dont have the final numbers for that yet.

So yes, with a properly tuned 100 shot you should have no problem taking an 03/04 cobra. Lol but remember, hes got that power 24/7, lol im still working on a way to do that! (lol j/k)

+1, properly tuned, you should be able to take him. I would mount a second 100 shot nozzle inside the cabin on the A pillar, that way, even if you lose you'll be so happy it won't matter!

I'm running 125 shot wet system now. After alot of tuning on the dyno I'm at 400 rwhp. But traction is the biggest obstacle against you. Specially if you are running 410s like me. Plus 1 with the blower having power thru out. It would be a great race to watch in a safe situation. For me it was cost, $2500.oo NOS or $7500.oo for a blower ?

with tire and a 100 shot you will hang with a cobra. but remember all they need is a tune, intake and pulley and you will have ur work cut out for you.

Yeah I know, it would be fun though. I am just thinking if hes only running 12.7 I should have a definite chance if I was on the bottle

I know I read somewhere that nitrous was actually easier on the motor than a S/C. Why would that be?

Anyway, shouldn't your friend be running faster than a high 12 with over 400rwhp?

With my NX kit and 4.30's I was putting down 410 RWHP and 456 ft lbs of torque. Had absolutely no trouble with blower cars when they came my way. My only problem at the track was traction. I never got drag radials so my of my action was on the street. The track was pointless for me. Had I got the car to hook up it should have been a 11.90 car.

On a side note I'm selling the complete NX kit that was in my car. I've sold the car so I no longer have a use for it.
