So I'm planning on taking a road trip next week. (From New York to Florida).. Should be around 20hours and 1300miles...

Besides changing the oil and filter before I start my voyage is there anything else I should check on or change?
I'm also planning on puttin the 87 octane tune back on to save a lil $$$ on gas...

Check your tire pressure to make sure it's ok.
Do you have a bra? 3-M front end protection?
How about those headlight covers? They'll keep all those Southern bugs off when you drive, especially at night.
I assume you've got more than 1000 miles on it so using the cruise control won't be an issue.

Be sure to take lots of photos of your Mustang in new, exciting places!

Drove mine from Connecticut to Florida and back with no probs!! The worst thing was the traffic! Wax her up real good, change your oil before and after and have fun!!!

+1 on a Bra or 3M protection ,if not a good wax ...

Wiping down the front bumper while filling up with 87 octane fuelisn't a bad idea ...

Don't tailgate &stayas far away as possible from Trucks...

An oil change before you leave & before you return isn't a bad idea ...

Bring a cooler with lots of goodies ... Fruits , jucies , Red Bull etc... Plenty of good music & a camera ...

If you're tired ... Don't kid yourself ... Stop & take a Power Nap ...

A can of Flat Fix , a small air compressor some tire plugs & flares ... Hey you never know ?... [sm=headbang.gif]

Hidalgo, that makes me wish I could be there on the Overseas Highway in my Mustang!
Been to the Keys 4 times since 2000, and I never get used to the warm water and all the fish.
Hoping to make it back soon... just have to see if I can rent a Mustang!

I just drove from VA to WA, not in my stang, but a Ford Expedition..talk about gas guzzler...anyway, the folks above just gave you some great advise...enjoy.

I would definitely get a bra or something to cover from the bugs, or else you're gonna have bugs stuck in your grill and stuck on your headlights.

I didnt even think about the bugs lol... Thats going to be annoying!

Thanks for all the advice... I just changed the oil and filter about an hour ago... Gave her a good wash and we are ready for our trip tomorrow morning...
