Some people swear by Amsoil, others say Redline, others say Royal Purple. I don't know which one is best. Pep Boys sells Royal Purple.

with the exception of a f.i car or a flat out racer that sees a lot of high rpm it's really a waste of money. buy Mobil 1 in the big bottle and change it half as often as you would with organic oil.

My uncle is a shop manager for Penske fleet division. He runs Mobil 1 in both his 88' F-150 and his 03' Excursion. He changes the oil in both at 10k intervals and sends a sample in for oil analysis every time. His F-150 has over 300k on the original motor and his Excursion is a turbo'd v10. Neither has had a single negative oil sample yet. That's enough for me!

Everybody has their own personal preferences, voodoo rituals - whatever. That's just an example I can give. The cost of Royal purple IMO is much better spent on another consumable - BEER !
