Check engine light on in youre 2005 GT i have an answer
 

I read the 05 stuff every so often. I dont really like them but thats ok, cause thats my opinion. Ok so here goes. I read a post from Daniel60 saying his Check engine light came on because of a coil problem. Well there is a TSB out for this problem because you are not the only person having this problem.
You said it happened when you gunned the dog **** out of it. lol. and this is when it comes on.
Youre check engine light will come on and it might and might not affect youre performance.
First have it checked like normally. find out what code you get and if it happened to be... PO35X... PO351, PO352... the number at the end is the cylinder misfire number
So you bring it to youre dealership and they will reprogram the PCM. because there is a later calibration avalible.
So there you have it, dont panic if youre check engine light comes on, just be glad Casper is right by youre side. lol.

I'm afraid i have this problem, I was on the highway running at high speed with an old stingray and now my service engine light is on. It's been two days and the light is still on. It drives the same, sounds the same etc etc, the only thing that is dif is the little ole light in the dash. How long should i wait before taking it in?

Depends on youre timeframe. I would have it checked out, could be something else. you never know. But if youre not having a problem... then its up to you.

If all you need is a computer re-flash then why not buy the Xcalibrator from SCT and gain about 20 Hp at the wheels and fix it yourself? Just my two cents. I have it in my 2005 and it runs hard.
