Thinking about trading in my '05 GT for an LS3... Why not?

Tired of getting trashed by old LS1 F-Body's. Now have to worry about LS3's? Seriously though, I really wish Ford would build a GT that would compete with Camaro's after 1997, let alone now we have to worry about LS2's and in the Fall, LS3's.

Base $42K Corvette's in the mid-low 12's, and they haven't really started to make power until after the Quarter on top-end!!! Also, rumor has it Base Corvette's with just Air intake and exhaust will respond extreemly well & dip to the 11's!

Damn, what to do???

ford needs to look into bigger cubic inch!!! why not use that 5.4?

keep in mind the price difference too. a mustang was never made to keep up with a vette, and with the pricing of the new camaros they arent on the same level anymore either. you could buy a roush or something of the like for the same price as the new camaros and be faster (and have a better damn car anyways)

Trade away if that's your choice. I really like my car(there's always gonna be someone faster than you, no matter what you drive) and I haven't been a fan of GM cars produced after 1972(except for the 'Vette,Z/28 & T/A). If you can find a "base" 'Vette for $42K brand new, then congrats on finding the equivalent of finding a unicorn, I haven't seen a new C6 under $50K anywhere. Ford sells Mustangs to everyone, GM sells Camaros to people who dream of having a Corvette. The Camaro has the distinct advantage of sharing drive-line technology with the Corvette(nothing Ford can counter with unfortunately) and having a liter and a half more displacement is already a head-start for the new, "alleged" Camaro.
The day I see a new Camaro on the road, I will take a peek and give the owner a thumbs up, but I wouldn't trade my GT for one, never had fascination with the Camaro(or Firebird) as I have had with the Mustang. Just preferences, nothing more, nothing less.

not this again...why do people compare the gt to the ls2 gto's and what will be the ls3 camaro's? they are just as close in price to the gt's as they are to the gt500's. people shouldn't expect the gt's to run right next to the ls2's, there is a 7,000 dollar difference in msrp. That's like expecting my car to run next to the gt stock for stock...

The LS3 maro is gonna be expensive.

5 bucks says you can buy a GT, supercharge it, puts some suspension mods and other bolt-ons in, and still have pocket change left over...

EDIT: Also, for the first year, they are probably going to be sold over MSRP, so you can add that in if you want.

Am I missing something here? When was it announced that gm was putting the ls3 motor in the camaros? All Ive heard so far is rumors. Im gonna guess it will be a mid to upper 30's car if its getting the ls3

lately, ford is just ****ing retarded, i swear to god. any higher performance cars other than the overpriced GT500, only consists of ford's bull**** "power packs" which only add like 30 HP and include bolt on parts that any performance enthusiast would replace themselves. we still are pretty behind GM's 10+ year old technology, and they're upping the stakes again, and ford has no plans in sight to compete. if the next mustang base model V8 does not put out at least 380 HP bone stock, im just gonna snap and buy an LS1 Camaro.

Thinking about trading my LS3 camaro for a Super Snake, why not?

Tired of getting trashed by 03-04 Terminators, now I have to worry about 725 hp Super Snakes? Seriously though, I really wish GM would build a car that people could afford and didn't look like every other car they made since 1997, let alone we have to worry about Roush, Saleen, Gt500s, KR's, Super Snakes, Shinoda, and many other types of really fast Mustangs, and in the fall, that mean ol 725 hp Super snake.

Base $42,000 GT500s in the mid to low 12's, and they don't really make power until after the quarter on top end!!! Also, rumor has it that a base GT500 with just air intake and tune will dip into the 11's!

Damn, what do I do?!?!

ps. Speed depends on money. Not the sharpest knife in the drawer, are you?
