Default Warranty (Should I get it?)

Does anyone have an opinion on the Ford PremiumCARE extended warranty? When I bought my new GT last week I added a 7 year 75k extended warranty but I have 60 days to cancel the warranty. I plan to do mods to the car and am not even sure if the warranty would be valid anyway?

Any help or personal experiences would be great to hear.

Most likely that extended warrenty comes with a $100 per vist charge. If you plan on keeping your car for 7+ years and have no mechanical abilities and leave it stock, The extended warrenty is ok, If your going to sell or can fix small stuff yourself then forget it.
But if at the end of 70,000 miles and you have not used it. Drain the oil, Start the engine, floor it, KAAAA, BOOOM, Put the oil back in, NEW ENGINE.

^^ Ya because that is an honorable thing to do, God I hate shady people. [sm=boosign.gif]

ibtoad, I am in the same boat as you are, I hate 15 days left to decide if I want to keep the warranty or not.
I too want to mod my ride and I just know it will be a waste of $1,800 if I decide to lower the car and what not.
Good luck in your decision.

If you do any performance mods to the motor it is not worth it IMO. If not go for it!

Actually, I have the $0 deductible option that I talked them into upgrading me to. I don't plan any major engine mods. More like CAI, custom tune, and maybe some exhaust work. Now if I cancel the warranty, the $1700 I spent on it would more that cover the mods that I want to do. If I keep it, I am not sure if it will even be valid with the mods. As far as keeping the car, I will probably want to upgrade when the 2012's come out so that would be like 5 years I guess.

Well i am one who purchased the 7Yr/100k Warranty and plan to keep it. Even though i am modding the car the extended warranty is still good to have as it covers stuff like Gauges A/C, Interior and exterior parts, Engine, Trans. Well worth it especially if you plan on keeping the car that long. Now if you add a supercharger and it causes the engine to go BOOM from a bad tune or to much boost do not expect Ford to pay for that repair under warranty.

Keep the warrenty. And a 7/75 with $0 dec at 1700 is NOT an upgrade. I got one 7/75 with $100 dec for $700. Get that one, IMHO.
