That is where my leak is do you thinkI should just change the oil before I take it to the dealership or just let them put a new rear seal in it.

if it has been leaking for that long of a time, I'd be more comfortable having the seal changed, (you are still under warranty, right?) because in my mind, a constant leak at a seal point will break down that seal and make it not want to seal ever again. Kinda like if you have a thermostat gasket on the old 302's seeping when it gets hot and don't fix it for a couple months (guilty here) no matter how hard you crank down on it, it won't seal. In that case, you have to change the gasket. I'm pretty particular about leaks though, I'm a dealer's nightmare right before my warranty expires.

If it has been leaking that long I would take it in to the dealer. Mine was a one time thing. ..Has your oil ever been changed?...With 3800 miles in 2 yearsI would change my oil every 6 monthsand not go by mileage.Change it, Clean leaking area good. Pull inspection plate and clean out oil. Drive it a bit. Check for leak.

In Tacobills UDP install write up he had a picture showing that the sealent in the factory UDP keyhole was no applied properly and caused a small oil leaking around the front seal. Thats the only oil leaking I've ever seen coming from a S197.
