ORIGINAL: hawgman
Uhem... who's idea?
LOL! I think hags1 over at TMS originally got the idea from you. I've read lots of your stereo posts in the past, in fact, I think you were the rear cam in the keyhole innovator! [8D]

Most excellent, how about a picture of the trunk with the rear camera?
I'm in the process of re-mounting the camera more steadily. The legs of the 'U' bracket are not even right now, causing the camera to lean a little to one side. Once I fix it, I'll post some up close pics.

Just hope you don't ever want the navigation system that can come with it. That is a resiously expensive add on part. [sm=bangbang.gif]
Retail yes... but I have a hook up over at Alpine!
Blackbird II is due out possibly at the end of the month from what my source tells me.

I have a 00 Tacoma TRD as my daily. I used that ID in the Tacoma forums.. name just stuck with me.

Hey, no **** in the Mustang!
It's just an Alpine wallpaper. [8D]

For those who have an Alpine (or planning on getting one), here's a cool website that has a bunch of APN files you can download. You can even submit your own JPG and have the site owner convert it for you.
Only Alpine's proprietary APNfile extensionsare allowed as background images. [:@]

I got through making the final adjustments on my rear cam this afternoon.

Bracket looks unfinished and I even thought of painting it black, but ehh, it's completely not visible once the cover is in place.

Also got a better shot of the cam in action, this thing is pretty clear (you can see the Taco on the left)!

I looked at the Alpine system because I am looking to put in a navigation system in the near future and holy cow. Alpine doesn't seem to have an all in one unit like the Pioneer AVIC Z2. It looks like the h/u you have is decently priced but the navigation system add on costs a freakin arm and a leg plus your 1st born.

Plus some of the add ons seem kind of expensive for what they are as well.

I think I'll just stick with the Pioneer unit. Alpine needs to either bring the cost of their nav unit way down or come out with an all in one solution like Pioneer has.

Nice write up - I always did wonder if it was possible to mount a camera in that location...now I know, better start saving up now hadn't I?
