That is the CAI setup I put in my car. It initially had problems but than settled down. When I clean the filter it has problems for the first 25 miles and than settles again. I will definatly need a tune. So you are saying the dealership will handle it if I ask? I mean, I am in pretty good with my local Ford dealer. LOL, sorry I just feel so confused.

After a tune with no more than axle-back and CAI, was there a noticable difference?

GT Bob, thank you for that explaination. I even understand it! I can't wait to explain it to my wife after work today. I want to watch her eyes kind of glaze over like when I explained to her how a clutch works.

If you were to go to Brenspeed.com and order the SCT tuner, they would ask you questions about your car. You have a 4 character code on a sticker under the hood. Tell them your mods and they will send you the tuner ready to go. I recommend the '93 octaine tune. Plug into the port under the dash and the screen will tell you step by step what to do. You will need to have the correct gas in the car before you load the tune.

There was a very noticable difference when I installed my intake and tune. Gave it the gas and wow, didn't do that before, kind of noticable.

I don't want to pay for 93 octane fuel, its just horriblly priced anymore, I wouldn't mind going up to 91. Will this still be ok? So that big of a difference huh? :-D

I'm on the east coast so it's about $4 more per tank. I put $600 into the intake/tune so that's the best $ spent.

What are the "other" impacts of a tune... nothing is free, of course... fuel economy will drop? wear and tear on the engine? how does this affect the warranty? (will the stealership raise a stink?)

Actually, my fuel economy improved. Might be cause I got more response quicker and could lay off sooner? I have not brought it back to the dealer since but I saved my original parts just in case. Was able to pass MA emissions. On automatic cars, I've read that the computer makes adjustments over time and you can correct this by re-installing the tune every so often.

OK, so Brenspeed SCT X-Calibrator 2 it is. They told me it takes about two weeks to receive the SCT with my configs setup.
