What part do I need to prevent this?
For example: If I'm merging onto a highway at about 50 or 60 MPH...whenever I hit a little bump or such, my car feels as if it loses control (to the right or left, depending which way I'm merging)for 1 second. It's very scary, especially when traveling decent speeds. It feels like my car is flying for .5 seconds...lol.....seriously though. I have the following suspension parts...
Adj. LCAs Rear Sway Panhard Rod Panhard Rod Brace THANKS! |

this is the nature of a solid rear axle

RE: What part do I need to prevent this?
You didnt state on if its lowered but I will assume it is. This is probably bump steer and it happens when you lowered the car, also wider, lower profile tires effect this. You can get a bumpsteer kit to correct the front end geometry but most live with it because its usually not that bad.

Is it in the rear end or the front end? Does it feel like the rear end is sliding out a bit "airborne" style? Only happens when it is around a curve (even a slight one)?
If so, that is the nature of a solid rear axle. My stock mustang and my jeep both do it over this one suspension joint around my house. |

RE: What part do I need to prevent this?
howarmat - Car is not lowered and I did get new wider and lower profile tires...but the movement has been there since day one.
Aziraphale - I do not feel anything in the front. Only in the rear...LOL! Seriously though. Once in a while it will happenon a curve...depends on the bump. banka87 -Your response was useless. teksp0rt - Your response was useless. |

EDIT: For people who may find this later, bump steer and death wobble are front end problems. The rear end feeling like it is jumping out a little is because of the solid rear axle. |
