I put the ones from Ford on last year, but can't really say if they kept anything protected.
If I didn't have such crappy roads to drive on, I'd take 'em off for sure.

u start putting on wider rear tires you can really use'em... I hear **** kick up on the rear panels all the time now

Everytime someone says "mudflaps" they will catch grief, and deservedly so.
Mustangs use Splashguards.
They do not flap.
If you see a flap for a Mustang, stay far far away.

The moulded rear ones at my dealer were $45.00. Better have some washers on hand in case the bolts pull through the too-big holes in the splash guards like mine did. The roads here in North Texas are pretty bad and warrant the installation of splash guards.
