Don't get me wrong. I doreally enjoy driving it. But when we got the stang, it was basically an extra car. We had won it through a raffle that I was so fortunate enough to win. I have a grand am for my daily driver that I drive all the time and take up to school, which is in the snow belt. I wouldn't trust taking the stang up to school. Campus is too big and weather kinda sucks in Ohio. We keep it in the garage for the winter because of all of the salt on the roads.

And like you said, what servicing would you guys recommend I do to the car before it sits for a lil while. It is due for it's oil changed. Anything else to help this car last?

I figure 10,000 is when you really lay the hammer down.

If it's going to be sitting formore than 6 months, make sure it's on an empty tank and I'd even drain the oil out of it while it sits. Hell, I'd set it up on four jackstands to relieve the stress on the suspension, but I tend to go overboard.

well, with generator and motorcycle storage, you're supposed to get all the fuel out of the unit (I guess the mustang equivalent would be to run it out of gas, crank it maybe another ten seconds for good measure, then undo the fuel filter and make sure it's empty too), change the oil (but have fresh oil in the crankcase), and put a small amount of oil in the combustion chambers via the spark plug hole, I guess to prevent any piston seizing...how much of that relates to storing a car is questionable, but I figured I'd throw it out there...
...as far as stepping up your maintenance schedule on a 5k/year vehicle, I myself would say oil change every 4-6 mos, brake flush 2-3 years, coolant flush 2.5-3yrs, fuel filter 12-15 mos, and I'd say that pretty much covers fluids and lubricants that would break down over time, regardless of mileage or lack thereof...hope this helps, it may sound **** or cockamamie to some...
