The button in the console controls the "mood lighting" an option that has a trim ring around the drink holders & lighting under the dash(footwells). It basically acts like my color, but changes only the color of the trim ring & curtesy lighting colors--pretty cool, but kinda gay(ricey) at the same time.

Considering that there are dozens of things we could use on the 2008 Mustang mood lighting has got to be one of the dumbest options in the Ford Playbook!
Can't they even add seat memory, a decent CD player, remore trunk release, etc???
Just hope that button, when it's pressed, sends an electric zap through the body of a Ford vice-president!

I actually just saw 2 '08 stangs today. One was a v6 in the dealer lot, and the other a GT in my town from the dealer. The v6 had the HID head lights. That was about the only difference I saw on that one. The GT had nothing new that I saw. Neither of them had the button beside the cup holders. And the funny thing is, when I asked the one salesman what was new with the '08's, he said, "nothing really, still rides the same. There's the hoodscoop." I was like yea, that came out for the '07's. And then he was like, "mainly the new shelby's." And I'm just thinking, once again...that came out in '07. Maybe he should read up and do his homework a lil bit better if he is going to be a Ford salesman. Not saying he is a bad or stupid person, but if you are going to be selling the car, know a little something about it. Seems like I know more about the new '08's than he does.

As a European, I never saw or understood the whole concept of next years cars being for sale now. How can a car sold in August 07 be an 08 car? When you sell that car in 3 years time, would you call it an 07 or 08 car?
Everybody seems to get all worked up about it as well, don't you guys see even the slightest bit of marketing BS there?
