Default Gremlins in the system.

Alright something weird happened to me and another fellow mustanger today. We were walking out the mall to our cars and i used my key fob to unlock my car before i got to it. He doesnt have one, lost it or something idk. Anyway we're walking up to the cars and i unlock mine and we hear his car unlock too. WTF? How is that possible. Please dont tell me that its possible for certain key fobs to unlock other mustangs besides your own. Im going past the dealership tomorrow to see whats up with this. We tried it again and it didnt work, but it only takes one time to get screwed. Any input?

the odds dictate that your friend is playing a joke
on you, it's just so much more likely....

but who knows, maybe there was a moment of
intermodulation, occuring in the stangs receiver

Yeah i thought about that, but just after saying what was said while we spoke about it i doubt it, and we know when to stop a joke, like before i waste gas driving to a dealership...but still that is a viable option, trust me i would rather that be the case.

What a co-winky-dink.
Maybe he didnt lock his or forgot and
just thought you unlocked both but in
reality he forgot to lock his? Close enough
to his to actually hear and see the lock
actuator raising or did he just get there and
say What the... It was locked I think. You
must have unlocked it with yours because
there was no way I forgot to lock my car
(it happens). Actually hear and see this
happen and from how far away> Were
you parked next to each other? More
details and it could be explained maybe.

Intermodulation would dictate that the remotes
frequencies are different from one remote to
another. There is just not enough airwaves
for that. So Ford and everyone else uses
rolling codes for the remotes and intermodulation
could not occure in this situation and cause
an invalid reception of the digital code. JMHOO
