I'm looking to get metallic silver stripes painted on my GT.
I just need an idea of how much that is going to run...

Just for fun I built and priced a Mustang on the Ford website and one of the optional things you could add was racing stripes and that was $365 or something, I don't know if that helps.

Thanks, but im pretty sure the ones from ford are vinyl.I really wanted painted stripes unless they are like $1,000. I'm guessing $700???
Hope they aren't too bad.

I went to a body shop and got quoted 175 for the stripes. Call around.

Right now I am changing the stripes on my car until I find a color and style that I like a lot.
Colors I have went with and style:
Black 10 in stripes
Flat Black 10 in
Silver 12 in
Blue 12 inch stripes
Blue 15 inch center with two pin stripes beside it
Red 10 in stripes

Isuggest doing this it will help you not regret what youpermently get (like a tattoo)

Oh ok I didn't know about the vinyl thing... I don't know much about painting, but my brother got his entire car painted black a couple of years back and it cost in the neighborhood of $500, so i'd imagine just stripes would be less than that.

Mine is in the shop now. Getting satin silver (TL) 12"stripes 2" gap on tungsten grey... clear coating a couple of coats on top. $1500... Some other shops I went to quoted me 2k

Is that "body shop" in someone's garage or something? $175 for painted stripes sounds way, way too good to be true. Careful about buying extremely cheap stuff for your Mustang, the quality is generally tied to the price in some way.

I was like YESSS!!! when I read $175... but yeah if its $1500 then that sucks!
I definately dont want cheap stuff on my stang.
I'm going to call around to different custom shops on Monday.

I agree...You get what you pay for!!! You will regret MORE if the cheap stripe job starts to peel or look like crap. Make sure you look for some pictures of their work if you don't know about them. The shop I'm using has had me down there twice to show me the tape job to make sure I like how they are positioning everything.
I'm also switching the spoiler while this is being done and painting the side mirrors the body coler so it all blends in well.

Nope its not....the people that have the vinyl store also paint stripes they are doing it for me cheap since they have put all the vinyls.

If I don't like the stipes they wrote me in a contract they would buy me the parts to make it plain jane again. I have done a lot of buisness w/them.....

To date I have spent 500 dollars on the vinyl and install for the 6 times I have changed it plus I have my car on electronic billboard in my town showing they have the capabilities. To date everything they have done for me has been A+. I don't go cheap just a multi return customer.
