Give it 6 months and you'll see '05's EVERYWHERE, get the Mach 1. Hell, I can't drive 5 miles now without seeing at least 5 v6/GT's of some year.

My friend drives a Mach 1 and he likes/envious of my 05 GT.
I can drive around corners without worrying much, so there's a big difference in stability than the Mach 1. (Same with the interior, I love the cockpit feel and more room in mine)
But if you think about it, its the same basic engine in the Mach 1 as the new GT ("basically").

But I agree completely, everyone is trying to get a 05 Mustang now.

So it all depends what you're looking for and what you're going to do to it once you have it. An '04 Mach 1 is more rare and cheaper right now.
No, it isnt even close.

Did you test drive a Auto mach or a manual? The stick is far superior, they even have a higher redline and I have heard the sticks are the only ones with a forged bottom end.

A manual Mach 1 will eat either of the 05s alive. And with a set of slicks and some nitrous you can be running low/mid 11s

That's a big shot of gas to make a 280rwhp run mid 11's. Must be nice to throw that much juice at one.

I went with the '05 because it is new. I figure I'll be getting a Mach 1 or Cobra, with the new style, in a few years.

2000G4.6 ~
no kidding? I hadn't heard about that actually.
That's why I said "basically." (300-range hp for Mach 1's, instead of previous year GT stock engines) Know where I could find some more info out about it? I'm curious.

And I havent test driven the Mach 1, my friend just owns one so I was going off of what he had told me. (his is stick as well)

Thanks!

Get the Mach 1 and you will NEVER regret it, a far better car and it will be worth much more in the future. as said before 4v>3v

Well its not a hard decision for me. I would stick with the Mach 1, the powerband is WAY different. The Mach's 4v keeps pulling hard all the way in upper RPM's. The 05 3v, just didnt do anything for me. AND if you wanna do brake stands and powershift, then go with the Mach.
I personally like everything about the mach better than the 05's.... But its youre choice.

Go to a MACH 1 forum sometime and read the posts about people shooting 150 shot and DR's, with minor bolt ons going low 11's. My buddy liked the idea so much he is doing it.

With all the problems Ford is having with the My Color law suit I doubt the '05 I ordered will be ready when I get home in March. And I have been reading a lot about the Mach 1. Was there any difference in the 2003 and 2004 model years? What colors do they come in?
