The factory uses silicone and the LPW instructions say silicone is best...
I agree. No gasket necessary.
Swanson said that most guys that install some type of (paper, etc.) gasket end up with leaks.
So, my installer didn't use the enclosed gasket that came with the girdle. He used the same type of grey silicone as the factoryto form agasket. He also told me that he used liquid teflonon the threads of the fill and drain plugs and if I ever openeither, make sure to re-applyusing the same liquid teflon (not the tape kind).

Better yet, I saved you from having a leaking differential cover. Dealing with that headache is a $100 easy. [8D]
