check the sigs of other members, find out their addresses and buy yourself some tools, a jack, some stands and a ski mask lol...

um...why don't you want to justdo a gear swap?

06 gts have a traction Lock, Posi or whatever you want to call it. so all you need to do is have some 373s installed . Unless you are planing on putting a 06 rear end in something else.

Because the axle housing has a leak at 1 of the axle tubes where it's welded to the center pumpkin. Rather then get a bare housing under warrantyand have to reinstall 3.73s i'd rather just get a whole assembly.

^^^ in which case a ford nine might be easier/cheaper to find and may be more easy to adapt into a different car than the 8.8 (or maybe not? IDK...just seems like people are running ford nines in all high-hp applications regardless of make...will bolt up to anything I guess...)

The tubes aren't welded, they're pressed.

newtakeoff.com sells the whole rear axle with any gear ration you want. I think the 3.73 rear is $799.

now I understand...
man, I can just see a technician doing a nice, accurate job swapping your gears into a new housing for warranty time...NOT!

Bah i knew there was a catch. The rear is sold in as is condition. If the thing is noisy ill still have to dump a couple hundred for gears.
