Going to the track
Ok I know there are many threads as to what to expect but I had one question about my tire pressure. Im running KDW's and i heard to be around 15psi? Im hoping to get into the 12's with some 18' chrome rims and street tires. I think i'll be able to.... |
RE: Going to the track
I personally think 15 is a bit low for the stock stuff but I'm sure someone will disagree.

RE: Going to the track
I have 19's on my car. I've been racing for a few weeks now, i started at 20psi and have been lowering by 1 psi each week. Last week i was at 18 and had noticeably better traction but that may have just been track prep. I'm going to try 17 this week and see how it goes if it doesn't rain.

RE: Going to the track
17-18 psi seems to be a good number for the KDW's.
However, I have to ask, how in the heck did you get an 18' wheel on your mustang???? Does it double as a dump truck or something???:D You know I'm just bustin' your typo balls...LOL:D |
RE: Going to the track

RE: Going to the track
I made it in the 12's with the stock 17" tires. tire pressure worked best for me at 18 psi. If the track is prepped good with vht I could heat them up good and it would usually hook, but switched to the drag radials so I could be more consistant and have a chance at winning. never failed, when it came to eliminations I would spin and not run my dial. you will probably have to baby it off the line with the hp you are putting down, nearly 150 more ponies. I bet your mph will be impressive. good luck

RE: Going to the track
well as soon as i got there and was ready for tech it started raining. i guess im going to the midnight drags....which kinda sucks because its going from 10 cars there to 100 ricers that run 20 second 1/4's
