Yeah, you'd be very hard pressed to get a wheel/tire combo under 45lb for anything 17" & up. Most wheels are in the 22-35lb range and the tires are 24-30lb range for wheels & tires 17" to 20"...........
Why do you think NHRA cars still use 15" wheels?

I cant imagine what chrome 20s way , i had my car a week with the stock 17s and it was a lot easier to smoke than my fanblades but my dealer offered to switch the wheels free of charge because somebody ordered a car with 17s and it came in wrong and he was apparently furious with the fanblades and IMO they look a lot nicer so i said what the hell. You really do have to sacrafice looks for performance

Jerjan: I wrote down the weight of the stock 17"s with pirellis, as well as the stock 17"s with the M/Ts, I'm at work right now, but I'll post the #s when I get home.

I just spoke to Steeda...the wheels I was looking at (18x9.5 Pentars) weigh 31 pounds. I was also looking at 18" Razors which (per Tire Rack) weigh only 26.5 pounds), so I'll likely go with the razors...seems like they are the lightest 18" out there.

I considered 18" steeda ultralites, but when I called steeda, they told me that they weigh over 25 lbs. each! I ditched that Idea and went with the 17" stockers instead.

Hmm, I guess I have started some curiosity here. Anyone else have any input? I gotta believe I could drop quite a few pounds going with lightweight 17" wheels and tires. What I'm finding out is that even the companies that say their wheels are lightweight are not always telling the truth. I guess maybe some of them are lightweight compared to wheels for a dumptruck!
