try spraying it with brake cleaner, then blot it out with a rag. if you dont want to use brake cleaner, then use laundry detergent, sprinkle a bunch on, spray it with water, then scrub with a brush. laundry detergent is actually very powerfull, it is what we use at work to clean up oil etc..

Two items will do it. One is Turtlewax OXYclean uphostery cleaner along with a shop vac. The other is Spotshot spray carpet cleaner. Both have taken oil, tar and grease out of my carpets. Costs about $3.50
