so after months of trying to convince my father to buy me a stang, he said yes. it took me a while to convince him becuz he saw it as a dangerous car. but the problem now is that he said no to the stick. what should i do?

did he say yes to a GT, or justa mustang in general? i guess its win win either way, but not buying a standard w/o a logical reason is just gay, the most base v6's are standard.. aka the cheapest, and in my opinion better than the loaded ones with all the stuff you dont want/need that you will just replace with better things, aka wheels, stereo, any kinda body effects it might come with.. so on

What kind of father would offer to buy his son a car and then start dictating what kind of transmission it has. That is so lame and totally sucks!!! You need to stand firm on the five speed. I’d tell him to shove it and then I’d move out and find a father that is a car guy.

use a little reverse psychology, like "I changed my mind and wantthe automatic instead for dragstrip consistency" and see what happens...worst comes to worst, it won't work and you WILL have a consistent dragstrip car! (plus you can eat a hamburger more easily while driving lol)...
