new gt500's: is the suspension that bad?
i always thought that the 2007 shelby gt500 would be the dream car, then i heard about it having terrible rear suspension (top gear).
does anyone have one? i'm sure it's a blast to drive. and if i did have one, i'm sure i won't be taking sharp turns at 90mph.
give me the rundown: the pros and cons
so is this really the ultimate mustang or a "could have been."

You believe that British hate machine of anything Yankee? Well if .90g through a skid-pad is terrible handling, then so be it. Yes, since it's a mass-produced car some concessions had to be made so the "average" driver doesn't get into hot water while driving too quickly(meaning the car under-steers a bit so that the driver will "back off"). See the last issue of Car & Driver, the GT500 was a few tenths behind a 911 Turbo Porsche(a $135K car) around VIR(Virginia International Raceway), only the Z06 and C6 'Vettes were significantly faster.

The guy on top gear after finding no flaws with the Ford GT came to a decision its too powerful[sm=dontgetit.gif]. He said there is just power everywhere and basicallyhe would rather the less torquey high end zing of a Ferrari. He says it has more character.[sm=smiley23.gif]It kills me how they put the car on their Dyno and complained that the RWHP wasn't 500. What the funk did you expect! I know theGT500 isn't up there with the likes of Ferrari,Porshe, and other high end exotics but don't holdto those same standards.

They say it has prehistoric suspension and it isn't independent. Umm Duh. Thats the whole fun of it is to drive it like the tires are slowly melting away with all the smoke as you slide around a corner with the gas on. Don't listen to what those jokers say about anything american because they always rip it apart no matter what it is.
