Default 2k rpm face fall

Is it just me and mine or does everyones mostly stock GT fall on it's face at about 2k rpm, no matter what gear? Once it gets to about 2.5k rpm it takes off like a bat outta hell. Can this be tuned out or corrected somehow other than with some sort of FI?

2.5 seems to be the sweet spot, even with FI.

Really weird cause I was about to post something about this. Really, I get some immediate grunt, if I roll off, then from 2-2500 it's like it's missing or something (I know, it's not), then takes off. I think it may have something to do with this adaptive management...any other ideas?

I've only noticed it when I have the heat on high or the AC on any setting....

Mine pulls real hard to 2.5, then falls on its face. It picks back up again @ 4 grand.

eh, just mod the ball$ off your car and I'm sure it'll clear up lol...
...but seriously, I seem to remember something like this when I was stock, and esp. with the a/c on speed 2 or higher...but with my 4.10s I'm very rarely around 2K rpms, like I'd need a map and directions to find my way there, know what I mean? lol...

Even modded mine does it. I have a CAI, Cams and custom tune and mine still does it.

I was wondering about the lack of grunt at low rpms when I first got my GT. Then I realized, oh wait a minute, despite its 300HP, this is still a small block engine. For some reason, I wasexpecting to drive it like a big block engine. When I looked at the HP/Torque curve again, and took the weight of the car into account,it made sense that the power would come on at 2,500-3,000. This is a GREAT engine, it can pull. But it is relatively small at 281 cubic inches. I just had to remember to keep the rpms up!

I haven't noticed any power lag, other than throttle response at times (which is not what you're referring to, is it?) between 2500 and 4000.

LoL. If it's anything like my 95 Cobra I had with 4.10's, 2k wouldn't even register on the tach! Really, the RPM's shot up faster that they could read! Could have something to do with the NOS too.... [8D]

EDIT - Woohoo! 2nd gear member!
