Ok guys, here's a question. I ordered my GT with 3.55 gears. That was one of my definite requirements knowing I was going to put 20's on it. I would haveconsidered 3.90/4.10's if they offered them. Everything felt good with the 17's, but now I have 20' rims/35 series tires and it really feels like I need more gearing again. With 20' rims would 4.10's be a better choice than 3.90's? In my truck I went all out and put 4.56 gears in with 20' (26' tall tire) and it ROARS on the highway. It's now relegated to pulling my boat around and, of course, moving my friends [:@]so it's all good.

I want my stang to be nice and somewhat docile still at 70-80 mph. My truck rushing by scares the crap out of people at 80.

Is the 3:55's the max gear you can get on a new GT with the auto tranny?

I think 3.23 is the max gear you can get with an auto trans. The 3.55 is a manual trans option.

You shouldn't have any problems with the 4:10s and your 20s. I know a guy who has them and he loves it.

Thanks for the info! I have a modded C6 Vette and have been toying with the idea of getting a GT and modding it.
