Convertible Top problem on 2007

I've been putting my top down while sitting in the driver's seat. The other day I noticed that when the top was down, a small portion was stretched tight (to where the color changed) over a piece of steel in the driver side rear window well. Four out of four try's the material was stretched to tight. I looked at other new convertibles at a cruise in the other night & three of them had the material stretched in the same place.

When I put the top down now I put it about half way down, then pull some extra material up in the area of concern, then put the top the rest of the way down. This addresses the problem.

Showed the dealer and he advised the top is covered under warranty for 3/36 & not to worry about it. Did say they had to send a new convertible to the local upholstery shop to get the top adjusted so the drivers door would open without catching the rubber around the top of the door sill...
