RE: I just need to share.
Thanks for the comments guys.
I'm not even going to try to "quote" everybody. Just too much work.
JoshGT: RainX I put a good coat on before I mounted these. I'm hoping that helps. But as I mentioned, it's only 4 nuts to remove the whole thing entirely.
MarcusKeeler: The chin is the CDC Agressive and it is painted satin. I always had the rear louvers in the back of my mind and I wanted the satin finish to balance out.
Orion_240: I'm not sure about the side louvers. At least I think I'm not sure. Rear quarter window louvers I think are too much with the rear window louver. The rear side louvers? Maybe. I might need someone to photoshop it for me. For the exterior maybe a hood scoop. Then the question is shiny or satin again.
ohnoesaz: They aren't the plasic version they are aluminum. I don't know if that makes any difference. I just remember the old 66-70 models that had those and that's what I remember growing up. That's what I'm shooting for.
07BossGT: Although I am going for retro reproduction of my childhood automotive fantasy, the chrome bumper covers I've seenjust don't do it for me. I've seen them but for some reason they just don't ring true. Have no fear. Also, I know the directionsI received were very specific in mentioning I needed to seal the brackets with caulk for the exact reason you mention. Water could "undercut" the adhesive tape. I have a nice bead all around.
Just for sh*ts and giggles I'm posting the car I bought my son for Christmas. This is the direction I'm going. Don't know if it'll ever see a 402.

RE: I just need to share.
A quick update.
07BossGT thanks for the tip. 2 days ago, while cleaning the car up for a cruise to the lake, I noticed one of the top brackets coming loose. I removed and reattached it keeping the backing on the bracket but adding some superglue that holds to glass. The next morning everything felt very tight and firm. After comng home from the cruise it appeared my fixed bracket was still holding firm but the other top bracket was coming loose. Fixed that one last night and all appears well this again morning. The middle and bottom brackets still are holding tight so I don't think I was in danger of it flying off like it did for you but I'm definitely going to keep an eye on them.
Thanks for the heads up.
