Default Changing to bigger wheels and tires on 07 gt

I am putting on larger wheels and tires. What can be done to not use the tire management system. How can you fool the computer. The new sensors and kit are 500 bucks from ford.Even if i move them from my orginal wheels and install them into the larger set i have to go to ford and have the computer reset.I hate to brake down my original set of wheels and tires.Tony

Your sensor will need to stay on the car reading above the proper psi. Some people have actually built pressure tubes and put the sensors in the tube and mounted it in the trunk. What we do is mount the sensor in the spare tire. Either way your factory rims will need to be dismounted to get the sensors. Either that or buy 4 new ones which is costly and have them retrained to the car.

I am ordering my tires and wheels. The company said they would put the sensors in for a additional 300 bucks ,but said after i put them on i could have the dealer reprogram them. They want to ship them mounted and balanced,to save on shipping cost.I assume all four go into the spare tire taped to the rim.If i do that do i need to go to the dealer to reprogram,or am i good to go.Thank you

If you use the sensors already programmedto the car,i.e. the ones on them now, you won't need to reprogramm them.

Since I switch between winter and summer rims, I am just ignoring the warning light, and resetting the message everytime I start the car.
Cheapest solution.

i bought my rims and tires online. went to discount tire, had them break down and remount my old stock ones to get to the sensors and then place them on the new rims.

$60 to break down the tires and mount the sensors
